My professional journey has been shaped by both formal education and lived experience across cultures, countries, and roles. I hold a double Master’s degree in Polish and Croatian Literature and Language, as well as a postgraduate diploma in English as a Second Language from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. This academic foundation reflects my long-standing interest in language as a tool for communication, identity, and connection.
I began my career as an English teacher at a primary school in Poznań. After the birth of my children, I made a conscious decision to dedicate the next ten years of my life to their happy development, while managing the complex daily life of a household of five. During this time, our family embraced a modern nomadic lifestyle, living in several cities across Poland and Norway, including Stavanger, Gdańsk, Łódź, before eventually returning to Poznań. These experiences strengthened my adaptability, resilience, and appreciation for multicultural environments.
In 2015, I re-entered the professional world at IKEA Business Service Center, where I worked as an HR Administrator. In this role, I developed strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills while supporting and coordinating multiple projects. After one year, I was promoted to PA/PY Payroll Specialist, responsible for the compliance and accuracy of payroll processes for UK-based IKEA units. Managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously further strengthened my attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
In 2018, I returned to the education sector at The British School in the Netherlands, initially as a Student Supervisor. I worked closely with students, parents, and school leadership to address and resolve education-related matters. Within a few months, I was promoted to Team Leader, leading a team of 16 colleagues, assigning tasks according to workload and organizational needs, and managing the overall school schedule. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I organized and led childcare provision for crucial workers, ensuring continuity of care during an exceptionally challenging time.
In September 2021, I took on the role of Teaching Assistant, where I supported the planning and preparation of culturally diverse class sessions, used hands-on instructional techniques to support comprehension, and helped identify and respond to students’ learning needs.
In the summer of 2022, our family moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, where I began working as a Substitute Teacher at Copenhagen International School. In August 2023, I joined Sunrise International Preschool as the Head Teacher of a kindergarten group. In this role, I am responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing daily indoor and outdoor activities aligned with the curriculum. Sunrise has truly become a second home for me.
Alongside my role as Lead Teacher, I also support leadership and management. I played a key role in helping the preschool become an authorized educational institution accepted by the Copenhagen municipality. By combining my educational background with my international experience, I introduced innovative teaching approaches that contributed to the development of a unique curriculum. As a result of these changes, our preschool achieved the highest institutional evaluation scores.
I remain deeply committed to creating supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where children feel safe, curious, and empowered to grow.
